Hello from Green Lake Wisconsin! 2/28/2003

We finally got snow just before Winterfest.  Saturday, Feb. 8th was a great turn out with Sunday being a bit too cold for some.  Everyone had fun and all in all Winterfest went very well.  The new 2003 Winterfest Queen was chosen.  I have included a picture of her, so you will know her when you see her at some upcoming events here in Green Lake.  Janelle Carew would not mind at all if you stop to say hi.  We thank everyone who was able to join in making our first event of the year a success.

Last day of February, so for those who got to take advantage of our “Romantic Getaway Month” packages let us know if you have any suggestions or comments that we can pass along to our Chamber Members for next year.  We really do value your input.

The Concerts in the Park Committee is working hard on getting bands scheduled for our “Concerts in the Park” series held Wednesday nights in Deacon Mills Park.  We’re hoping to have 8 concerts this year, starting June 25 through August 20.  The new 2003 “Concerts in the Park” buttons are being designed.  Don’t miss the opportunity to purchase a button and you too can help support Green Lake’s Concert Series.  There will also be concessions at each concert, so if you like old-fashioned concerts in the park pencil those dates on your calendar.

We hope everyone that received our 2003 Visitor’s Guide is planning to come for a stay.  There is always something to do and/or see here in beautiful Green Lake.  Besides our events we do have many great places to shop, dine, stay, play, or just enjoy the sights.  If you did not receive our new Visitor’s Guide just let us know.  We would be happy to send you one or more if you would like.

Until next time, take care and hope to see you soon!
