Spring! Spring! Spring! We know, we wanted the snow and cold for ice, but now that Winterfest is over spring can hurry up and get here. We are starting to see green with the rain that we have been having. Great strolling weather when it is not raining, unless you are the type that loves to sing in the rain.
May 3rd is the Great City Wide Garage Sale in beautiful Green Lake. The Chamber Staff will definitely be among those looking for treasures. Maps and information will be in our outdoor racks, at the Green Lake Area Chamber Office for anyone to pick up. Good luck to those who can make it.
Many of the Chamber Committees are hard at work getting everything ready for your visit. We've listed some of these things...
The Summer Solstice is working on a bigger and better Summer Solstice this year. This is our big PJ Party to celebrate Summer Solstice and this year it will be on THE day (June 21). I have enclosed a picture to show you that yes indeed people do come dressed in their pjs.
The Retail Committee is working on a Shoppes of Green Lake brochure, which a stroll and a jaunt map would show you where they are. We are excited about this project because it will go into our guest packs for our lodgers, also for anyone who would want one. (Hint, hint!)
The Recreation and Resource Committee is getting new Bike Maps made that should be here by the end of the month. They are also working on a Recreation Resource Book for businesses to have for guest inquires. The book would have things-to-do in it e.g. places to swim, art gallery, boat rentals, ect.
The Concerts in the Park Committee is close to having a completed band schedule. There will be 8 concerts this year, starting June 25 through August 20. "I helped support the 2003 concert series" buttons will be for sale before the first concert and all concerts, so anyone interested let us know. We hope that you remembered to pencil those dates in.
The 4th of July Committee is working on our Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration.
Besides all our events we do have many great places to shop, dine, stay, play, or just enjoy the sights.
Until next time, take care and hope to see you soon! |
