Spring is finally here-please no more snow. Last month’s Newsletter must have been hexed because it started to snow that night. We have beautiful spring weather with everything turning green.
Everyone that marked or are marking their calendars for the May 3rd Great City Wide Garage Sale or even those who are having a Sale, good luck on your hunt and/or sale.
Update on what our Chamber Committees are doing (Please, remember that these are only some of our Committees)…
Summer Solstice: The Committee is still working on a bigger and better event. Tentative ideas are a street dance, fortune teller, bed races (by participating Chamber Lodging owners/employees), an evening stroll card (visit participating shops-get card stamped or punched-when filled drop in $100.00 gift certificate drawing box), and of course our cutest pj & slipper contest will be going on along with our raffle for one or more Giant Green Lake Gift Baskets (last year we had one valued at over $1,000.00). Pictured are last year’s baskets, so you can get an idea of what this years will look like. We are still in the planning stages, so there may be even more surprises for that evening. What do you think?
Retail: The Shoppes of Green Lake brochure is now available at the Chamber Office. The new version has a stroll and drive map.
Recreation and Resource: The new Bike Maps are available and can even be downloaded from our website under Map/Biking. If you would like an original the cost is $1.00. It is well worth it according to some of the bikers that have purchased them. They are available at the Chamber Office; stop in when you are in town.
“Concerts in the Park”: 8 concerts have been scheduled, this year, to start June 25-August 20 on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:30. July 16th is our Family Picnic Night where we will be selling brats, burgers, hotdogs, soda, chips, & cookies. The UW Marching Band will be playing before the concert on July 16th begining at 5:30 p.m. Great date to mark down on your calendar! “I helped support the 2003 Concert Series” button just came in and we think that they turned out great!
Don’t Forget--besides events we do have many great sights to enjoy & places to shop, dine, stay, and play.
Until next time, take care & we hope to see you soon! |
