Green Lake Area Chamber of Commerce

Newsletter

March, 2004

Hello from Green Lake Wisconsin! 4/2/2004

Where you looking for our March Newsletter last month?  Well here it is, a little late.  I could make excuses like I was enjoying the Spring weather, but I won't.  The river is flowing swiftly behind the Chamber office from all the melted snow and recent rain.  Now to let you know what has been happening here...

May 1st is the Great City Wide Garage Sale in beautiful Green Lake.  Just to remind you that the Chamber will be doing a sale this year with donations from our Chamber Members to help with the cost of weatherizing our office building.  Does that tell you that we have had a long cold winter this year?  Maps and information will be in our outdoor racks, at the Green Lake Area Chamber Office for anyone to pick up.  Good luck to those who can make it and hopefully you can find something to purchase at our sale.  Hint!  Hint!

Many of the Chamber Committees are hard at work getting everything ready for your visit.  We've listed some of these things...

The Summer Solstice Committee is working on improving Summer Solstice again this year.  This is our big Pajama Party on Saturday, June 19 to celebrate the longest day of the year.  I have enclosed a picture from last year of the Slipper and Pajama contest winners.  More information on what is all happening will be in April & May's Newsletters.

The Green Lake Area Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring the Alain Zerbini Circus again this year.  The Circus will be on Sunday, June 20 for two shows at 2:00 & 4:00 p.m.  Advance tickets are $8 each compared to $10 the day of the show.

The 4th of July Committee is working on Green Lake's 4th of July Celebration.  More information on this will be in the May & June's Newsletters.

The Concerts in the Park Committee is close to having a completed band schedule.  There will indeed be 8 concerts again this year, every Wednesday night in Deacon Mills Park, starting June 23 through August 18.  Reminder that there will be no concert on August 4, so you can enjoy the Green Lake County Junior Free Fair scheduled for August 4-8.  Concerts in the Park buttons will be for sale on the concert nights to help offset costs.  This year the bands will help promote the button sales with their donated item as a prize to a button wearer.

We hope that you remember to pencil in the dates for Summer Solstice, Concerts in the Park, Green Lake County Junior Free Fair, and Green Lake's 4th of July Celebration.

Besides all our events we do have many things-to-do, along with great places to shop, dine, stay, play, or just come to enjoy the sights.

Until next time, take care and hope to see you soon!
