August, 2004

Hello from Green Lake Wisconsin! 7/31/2004

August was a very, very busy month.
Just to give you a follow up on some of the activities...

The Green Lake County Free Fair on August 4-8, at the Fairgrounds was fun for those young and old.  Reel in the Deal Days on August 7 & 8 hooked many shoppers with great deals.  The final concerts, for Concerts in the Park, on August 11 & 18 were pretty cool for those that attended.  The 2004 Inland Lake Yachting Association Championship Regatta made the lake look oh so fine with all those sails.  The Fine Art Show on August 14 & 15 had an awesome array of talent.  The Walleye Cup Fisheree State Championship on August 28 & 29 according to rumor was definitely a challenge for the competitors.

Then September brings...

The Wisconsin State Chili Cook-off on Saturday, September 11 with the 1st place winner heading for the National Chili Cook-off Championship.  Samples, music and fun for all.

Golden Days Harvest Festival on September 25 & 26.  Crafter's spaces are almost full (max of 100), Farmer's Market & Food Faire spaces are getting filled, Entertainment is all booked, Raffle and Live Auction donations are coming in, Scarecrow Contest-so if you live in town or want to bring your creation into town your entry will be more than welcomed, Motorcycle Show, Classic Car Show, BBQ Chicken and Pork Roast, Street Dance, Games, and so much more.  Information about Golden Days is available on our website and brochures are ready for you to pick up or for us to mail to you.

Every October from now on has been officially proclaimed by the Mayor of Green Lake as Green Lake Women's Month.  A copy of this proclamation will be on line soon, so please stop back and check it out!  With this the October Women's Month Committee is putting together an Escape to Beautiful Green Lake, Wisconsin Special Coupon Package.  This will be available soon for a cost of $10.00, which will include a raffle ticket to win extra prizes.  If you would like to reserve one or more of these packages please let us know, a limited amount of packages will be available.  More information on October Women's Month will be in next month's newsletter.

Just so you don't forget, we still have great sights to see (the leaves are really changing colors now), nice shoppes to find treasures in, great places to dine, cozy lodging establishments, great fishing (as you can see by the picture above), and so much more.

Until next time, take care & we hope to see you soon!
