Hello from Green Lake Wisconsin! 10/28/2004

Fall is definitely here in Green Lake; the leaves have changed colors, and most have fallen off the trees making work for some and fun for the young at heart.

Our Second Annual Green Lake October Women's Month is coming to an end with the last event, Palmistry & Dream Interpretation at Karyn's Jewelry, Art and Custom Framing Boutique on October 30th from 10am-3pm.  Our main event was on October 9th with "Girl's Night Out" at Thrasher Opera House, everyone present had fun.  We do plan on having it again next year, so keep an eye on our calendar of events.  Many other events took place during this month, if you were able to attend please let us know if this would be something you would want annually and we will be more than happy to pass your request along.  The Green Lake County Reporter featured Present Day Women of Green Lake during this month with very interesting stories.  Thank you to Kristin Radtke for doing such a great job.  Just a reminder, if you purchased a Special Coupon Package you still have coupons that are good until the end of the year.

Christmas by the Lake will be held on December 4, 2004.  Thrasher Opera House will be filled with music, the Festival of Wreaths (one wreath from last year is pictured here), Silent Auction, and Raffle.  Santa will be at his Christmas House, next to the Chamber office, at 10:00 a.m. to pass out treats, then on to the Caestecker Public Library for Story Time.  Lunch with Santa will be at the Goose Blind at 11:30 a.m. Afterwards you can catch him visiting the shops around town.  Don't forget to stop in at the many unique retail shops with the Giant Gift Boxes just outside their businesses.  They will be donned in their holiday finest, so sign up for free drawings, enjoy music and refreshments, plus find that unique gift for that special someone on your list.  Pick up a Christmas Stroll Card while you are there for a change to win a $50.00 Chamber Gift Certificate.  Cookie Decorating will be at the Chamber Office-so you can create your own yummy treat!  For the third year we will have a Residential and Businesses Decorating Contest.  Don't you just love the look of Christmas?  The Business winner will receive a traveling trophy.  The Residential winner will receive a Chamber Gift Certificate, to help them with their Christmas shopping.  Christmas by the Lake is still in the planning stages, so we will let you know more next month.  Please join us for this great event!

The Winterfest Committee is hard at work preparing for February 11 & 12, 2005.  More information to follow.

Our Green Lake Calendar of Events has been updated for 2005.  Check it out and sign up for reminders (notification would then come to you via email) or mark your calendars!

Don't forget, all year round, Green Lake has great places to shop, dine, stay, and enjoy!

Until next time, take care & we hope to see you soon!
