Hello from Green Lake Wisconsin! 6/29/2005

Summer Solstice was a hit!  There were many in their pajamas receiving extra specials at participating businesses.  Four “Giant Green Lake Gift Baskets” were raffled off, one valued at around $1,000.00 and the other three valued over $300.00 each.  Congratulations to the lucky winners.  One new addition, the Cookie Contest, was well received especially by our Judges-Mayor Joseph Parise, Mike Ratter, and Larry McIntyre.  Another new addition was the pony and camel rides along with a petting zoo.  The Bed Races sure were fun to watch.  Acorn Ridge Motel had the best time until they challenged Heidel House Resort, last year's winners to a final race.  The determination was very evident-even in that final race when Acorn Ridge Motel's bed fell apart.  SO Heidel House Resort became the winner of the traveling trophy for the second year in a row.  There were many that participated in the Cutest Pajama & Bedroom Slipper Contests.  The “Howl at the Moon” Contest brought out many great howlers.  To all who went on the "Evening/Morning Stroll" we hope that you found treasures everywhere you went.  For those of you that attended, let us know what you liked, disliked, or what we could add.  We appreciate input and are always looking to improve our events!  Pictures will be on our website as soon as we can get them downloaded.

"Let's Paint the Town"-Chalk Art Festival held on Saturday, June 25 was a great success for the first year and will definitely be an annual event!  Pictured are the first place winners for adult and child catagories.
