The State Chili Cook-off was held in Green Lake September 10th and was a huge success.

Making Wisconsin State Chili Cookoff history, to win both 1st place and People's Choice Award, was Swamp Lake Chili from Westfield. They also generously donated $250 of their $1250 total prize winnings to the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.  At auction a quart of their chili tipped the bidding scales by going for $165.

Our Golden Days Harvest Festival was held on Saturday and Sunday, September 24th and 25th.  Sunday's weather could have been better, but the rain didn't stop people from attending this great event.   Inserted is a picture of our 2005 Harvest Princess, Heather Hoekstra.  We had 70 winners in our Harvest Raffle.  The first three prize winners were...Doris Limbeek, 1st prize-Green Lake Gala Weekend for 2 with $500 in Green Lake Area Chamber Gift Certificates, 2 nights at Lakeside Motel, Golf at Lawsonia, Escapade Cruise, and Dinner at Two Chez.  Loren Shaw, 2nd prize $350 in Green Lake Area Chamber Gift Certificates. Lori E, 3rd prize a 1/2 day Bayview Motel Pontoon Rental with Picnic Lunch for 6 by Goose Blind (Picnic Basket compliments of Mill Street Junction).  Congratulations to all the raffle winners and thank you to all those who purchased raffle tickets.  We will be updating the Harvest Festival pictures on our website, so if you get a chance later take a peek!  Next year's Golden Days Harvest Festival date is September 23 & 24, so mark your calendars now!

Our Third Annual Green Lake October Women's Month (information below)... 
*Main Chamber event is scheduled for Saturday, October 22, "Bunko Night" at Little Corporal Restaurant starting at 7pm.  Bunko is a game of dice, luck, and prizes.  Rules will be presented at the door, so don't worry if you have never played before.  There is a $10.00 reservation fee, which can be pre-paid at the Green Lake Area Chamber office-Monday thru Friday from 9am-4pm, or pay at the door.  Space is limited, so pre-paying would guaranty a space.  This is a night to Let the Good Times Roll--You'll be glad you did!
*Green Lake Area Chamber will be holding their first In-Home Party Vendor Market on Saturday, October 15 at the Green Lake City Hall Gym from noon to 4pm.  We should have about 16-18 vendors such as Avon, Home Interiors & Gifts, Tastefully Simple, Pampered Chef, lia sophia, and more.
--This year's winner for Green Lake Women's Month-Grand Prize will be chosen by using a Passport.  Call, email, or come to the Green Lake Area Chamber Office to receive a passport along with directions and destinations for a chance to win the Grand Prize of a "Holiday Season of Beauty" compliments of Health, Beauty, & Fashion Cache', etc., which includes as many Aqua Massages as you like, a Facial, one Hair Styling/Color/Perm, a Pedicure, a Manicure, a Waxing, a Make-up and also a Romantic Dinner for 2 at Two Chez, good during November 15-December 15, 2005.

December 3, 2004 is Christmas by the Lake.  Santa, of course, will be there passing out treats, reading at the Library, and Lunching at the Goose Blind.  We are still in the planning stages and will have more information in the up coming newsletters.  Should you have any ideas/suggestions for this event please call or email us (any and all ideas are appreciated) as we would like this to be a must come to event.
