Hello from Green Lake Wisconsin

Another year over and a fresh New Year has begun; we are looking forward to a GREAT 2006!  We hope you were able to make it to any or all of the 2005 events because it is you that make each successful.  Any comments, complaints, questions, or ideas to help us improve our events, please let us know.  ANY input given is greatly appreciated.

With snow last night and today everything is white again.  Temperatures are not good for making ice on the lake though.  This has been a very mild winter and to-date the lake has not frozen over.

Winterfest 2006, our first Chamber event of the year, will be held Friday night & Saturday, February 10 & 11.  Friday night starts at 8pm with a Winterfest Dance and crowning of Miss Winterfest 2006 (everyone is invited to attend for a minimal fee at the door).  Saturday starts at 9am with the following happening throughout the day; Ice Bowling, Ice Golf, Ice Sculpturing, Helicopter Rides, Carriage Rides, Live Entertainment, Camel Rides, Petting Zoo, Medallion Hunt, Games for all ages, Co-ed Volleyball Tournament (looks like fun to me-included is a picture-what do you think?), Caestecker Library Book Sale, Food and Beverages, Raffle (Grand Prize is $750.00 cash, 2nd Prize is $500.00 cash, plus many additional prizes).  Concluding the day at Thrasher Opera House with Willy Porter, guitar player.  For those who would like to receive a Winterfest flier, please let us know your mailing address.  Otherwise we do have all the information on our Winterfest Poster Page.  Please note that some activities would depend on the weather, such as the cancelled Fisheree.

Green Lake will again be celebrating "February Specials/Romantic Getaway Month".  Many of our Green Lake Area Chamber businesses have specials in February.  Some specials include lodging, dining, gift baskets, and more.  All of these will help in the romance department.  Let us know if you would like more information or check out the February Specials Page.

Our 2006 Visitor's Guides are available, if you would like one or more just let us know your mailing address.

Green Lake is year round with something to do/see during every season with many great places to shop, dine, stay, and enjoy!

Until next time, take care and hope to see you soon!
