February 2006

Hello from Green Lake Wisconsin! 2/28/2006

The weather for Winterfest was good.  We had some snow and ice.  Not enough ice to hold the Fisheree, but enough for skating, ice bowling, and ice golf.  The Hover/Shuttle Craft was really interesting and we thank them for being part of this event.  Green Lake's 2006 Miss Winterfest, Alacia Pierce, is pictured here so you will know who she is at our other 2006 Green Lake events.  We thank everyone who joined in making our first event of 2006 a success.

If anyone has been able to take advantage of any Romantic Getaway Month/February Specials that were offered and would like to share any suggestions or comments that would be great.  We really value your input and welcome ideas that would improve on what we offer.

The Chamber's next endeavor is May 6, 2006 for Green Lake's Great City Wide Garage Sale.  The Green Lake Area Chamber will once again be participating, so please make 550 Mill Street one of your stops when looking for a great deal on goodies.

I will be giving our more information on the following events in the March, April, and May newsletters...

--The Summer Solstice Committee is planning Green Lake's Big Pajama Party, scheduled for Saturday, June 17.
--The Chalk Art Festival Committee is planning for this 2nd Annual event on Saturday, July 15.
--The Concerts in the Park Committee is scheduling bands for the 2006 series that will be held Wednesday nights in Deacon Mills Park.  There will be 8 concerts again, starting June 21 through August 16.   There will not be a concert on July 5 because of the July 4th Celebration the night before.
--The July 4th Celebration Committee is planning something totally different this year.

Please pencil in all of the above dates on your calendar or you can get a reminder sent to you via e-mail a week before the event by going to www.visitgreenlake.com, click on events-view by year, then click on the event you would like and under each event near the bottom of the page you can sign up for a reminder.  This is so nice for those who really need a reminder (yes, I am one also).

If you have not received our new 2006 Green Lake Visitors Guide yet, just let us know, we would be happy to send one or more to you.  Our new guide includes interesting articles on Green Lake's many events.

In beautiful Green Lake there is always something to do and/or see.   Great places to shop, dine, stay, play, fun events, or just to enjoy the sights.

I cannot leave without telling you that our website will soon have a totally new look.  It will have our new logo and branding and I for one am so excited about the changes that will be occurring in 2006.

Until next time, take care and hope to see you soon!
