Hope everyone had a safe and happy Thanksgiving.  The Green Lake Area Chamber now has two websites; www.visitgreenlake.com (for Visitor information) and www.greenlakecc.com (for Chamber information).

Today is the first real day that I can say WINTER is here, the wind chill this morning was two (2) degrees--brrrrrrrr.  They are predicting snow tonight and hopefully this weather will continue until after Winterfest, scheduled for February 9 & 10, 2007 (You read correctly, Winterfest, thanks to the Green Lake Kiwanis Club for co-sponsoring with the Green Lake Area Chamber of Commerce).  This will be great for ice-bowling, ice-fishing (fisheree), ice-golf and ice-skating.  After that the snow can stay for snowmobiling.  I, for one, would really like to have an old-fashioned winter this year.  More information on Winterfest will be in the upcoming newsletters. 

October Women's Month Follow up:  Barbara Smith-Doherty was chosen as the winner of the complimentary one-year Green Lake Reporter subscription from the four Green Lake-area women featured in the Green Lake Reporter during October Women's Month.  The October Women's Month Committee will be having a follow-up meeting soon and if anyone would like to share any suggestions for 2007 please send an email to info@visitgreenlake.com.

Christmas by the Lake is Saturday, December 2 with activities for all ages.  Just to highlight some of the new activities; Craft Program provided by the Green Lake County 4-H Organization, Second Time Around Sale to help the Green Lake High School Seniors pay for their class trip, 1950's Toy Exhibit in Dartford Historical Society, Christmas Card Display in Thrasher Opera House, Holiday Movie in Caestecker Public Library. Don't forget to check out the beautiful graham cracker houses next to Knowledge Emporium-pictured are some of past year's houses.
