Hello from Green Lake Wisconsin!

12/21/2006

Big Green Lake has no ice and there is no snow on the ground, at this time. We are hoping for a lot of snow and ice in 2007 for snowmobiling, ice fishing, snowball fights, fort building, snowman making, angel making, etc.

Changes in 2006

There have been a lot of changes made in 2006--The Green Lake Area Chamber has a new Logo & Tag Line, Chamber office signage is new and the Green Lake Area Chamber now has two new websites (www.visitgreenlake.com for visitors and www.greenlakecc.com for Chamber information).  Our NEW 2007 Green Lake Visitors Guides are already available in the office.  If you would like one sent to you please reply back with mailing information.  The Green Lake Area Chamber has t-shirts, sweatshirts, golf shirts, hats, bears, and 6-pack coolers for sale in the Chamber office with our new logo and tag-line. We are hoping that everyone likes the change.  A Work Study student from Green Lake High School is helping to make changes on our newsletters.  If you have any suggestions please let us know.

Christmas by the Lake 2006

Christmas by the lake went well this year. There were beautiful wreaths in the Festival of Wreaths, thanks to all those with the talent and time to put them together. There were many wonderful items in the silent auction, thanks to all those businesses and individuals who were generous in their contributions. There were also many delicious goodies for sale at the Sweet Shop, thanks to the Green Lake Area Animal Shelter and Our Lady of the Lake Church. Scouting for toys also received numerous toy donations, which went to the Angel Tree Program. There were nine contestants for the Holiday Cookie Contest, pictured is the winning cookies or should I say Christmas Mice. The judges loved their job being able to taste every one of those delicious cookies.  There was only one Gift-Wrapping Contestant (completely edible), what a neat idea! The Christmas by the Lake Committee is already looking forward to next year. They have come up with some spectacular ideas for new and different activities.

Chamber Christmas Party

The Green Lake Area Chamber had their annual Christmas party at Tuscumbia Country Club with raffle prizes, great food, and so much fun.  Over $600.00 was raised for the Angel Tree Program, thank you to all who contributed prizes, purchased raffle tickets and joined in on the fun.

Winterfest

The Winterfest Committee is preparing for February 9 & 10, 2007. Complete details will be in next month's newsletter.

The Green Lake Area Chamber Office will be closed from December 23, 2006 through January 1, 2007. We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year!
