Hello from Green Lake Wisconsin! 4/30/2007

I would like to personally apologize for the lateness of this newsletter.  I was on vacation and should have made it back in order to send this out on time BUT due to fight cancellations and delays--this newsletter has been delayed also.  

GREEN LAKE GREAT CITY WIDE GARAGE SALE, MAY 5, 2007
The Chamber, located at 550 Mill Street, will be participating in Green Lake's Great City Wide Garage Sale for the third year in a row, from 10am-4pm.  Thanks to the generosity of our Chamber Members and individuals in the area there should be a wide variety of items for everyone.  At this time there are mirrors, pictures, household items, furniture, loads of Christmas items, planters, dolls, puzzles, pillows, blankets and so much more.  Everything will be priced to sell so come early.  All proceeds go toward the Chamber building maintenance fund, which helps all our Chamber Members as well as the Community.  Watch for all of the signs like the one to your right as well as the people walking around.  Have a safe and fun day!

SUMMER SOLSTICE, JUNE 16, 2007
Summer Solstice; Green Lake's Big Pajama Party would like you to help us celebrate our 10th Anniversary.  From 10am-10pm participating business will have a Jar Guess, specials and more.  From 5-10pm enjoy the many activities such as:  Bed Races (pictured here), Cutest Pajama Contest, Cutest Bedroom Slipper Contest, Howl at the Moon Contest and Cookie Contest.  There will be food, refreshments and a raffle for Giant Green Lake Baskets, each valued at $300 or more.  All contests are open to the public.  Should you want more inform on the contests please let us know and we would be more than happy to answer any of your questions.

CONCERTS IN THE PARK, start JUNE 20, 2007
The Concerts in the Park Committee is pleased to present the 20th Starlite Stage-Concerts in the Park Series.  Holly Yeazel has agreed to be our Concert Host again this year.  Green Lake art students will create the sandwich board signs that you see in the park each week announcing who will be performing that night and who will be performing the next week. The UW Marching Band will be performing during half time on July 18 for our Family Picnic Night.  The posters should be up around Green Lake by the end of May.  Our concert schedule is as follows:
June 20 - Clauson Family
June 27 - Bergan Riley (The Wild, Wild Mid-west Show)
July 11 - Cashbox Kings
July 18 - The Del-Rays/Family Picnic Night/UWMarching Band
July 25 - Copper Box
August 1 - Jim James and the Damn Shames
August 8 - Kal Bergendahl Project
August 15 - The Dang Its
We hope you will be able to come and enjoy some of the concerts.

4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION
This celebration will be starting at 7:30am with a pancake breakfast at the American Legion Hall.  Then you will have time to take a stroll in the city until 2pm when all the other activities start in Playground Park and Deacon Mills Park.  There will be games, face painting, duck races, clowns, food, beverages, pie and ice cream social, farmers market, specials in participating businesses, a parade at 5pm, live entertainment by Zack Attack, and the fireworks at dusk.   Two barges will be needed on the lake for the fireworks this year, which should be a great display.  Pictured is one from last year.  There will be canisters throughout Green Lake for those who would like to help support the fireworks.

WHAT GREEN LAKE AREA HAS TO OFFER...
In Green Lake, there is always something to do and/or see.   Unique shoppes, great dining, fishing, bison farms, wonderful accommodations, horseback riding, bowling, hot air ballooning, hiking, live entertainment, wagon/hay rides, community activities and more. OR just relax and enjoy the beautiful sights.
