Hello from Green Lake Wisconsin! 5/31/2007

Hope everyone had a safe and nice Memorial Day Weekend!  It's almost SUMMER and with that comes FUN!!

GREEN LAKE GREAT CITY WIDE GARAGE SALE, MAY 5, 2007
The Green Lake Chamber made over $150.00, which went in the Maintenance budget.  Thank you to everyone who stopped and found great deals.   Anything that did not sell was passed to a non-profit organization to help them out.

SUMMER SOLSTICE, JUNE 16, 2007

June 16, 2007--Come celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Green Lake's Summer Solstice; Big Pajama Party!  Start off your day with breakfast in Green Lake, then check out the many participating businesses that will have Jar Guesses, specials and more from 10am-10pm.  Shop at your leisure and don't forget to take a break for lunch, there are many great restaurants to choose from.  From 5-10pm Green Lake comes alive on the corner of Mill & Hill Street.  Food and beverages on the Courthouse Lawn become available after 4pm.  At 5pm start voting for your favorite car at the Car Show, schedule an insightful reading. At 5:30 enjoy story time on the Courthouse Lawn.  At 6pm have your face painted at Knowledge Emporium, start hunting for the medallion, take a horse & wagon ride (discounted if in pjs), judging starts for the cutest pajamas and bedroom slippers contest (as you can see by last year's photo you will not be alone in your pjs and slippers).  Jon Ahrens will emcee and entertain us from 6-10pm.  Drop off cookies to be judged at the Chamber Tent on the Courthouse Lawn by 8pm.  Then it is time for the Bed Races at 8pm - a link to the on-line Bed Racing forms/information can be found at www.greenlakecc.com along with the poster.  Get your vocal cords ready for the Howl at the Moon Contest at 9pm.  Stay until 10pm when the winning tickets will be drawn for the Giant Green Lake Gift Baskets.  THEN for those already in your pajamas you can go straight to bed and dream of what a wonderful time you had in Green Lake!

CONCERTS IN THE PARK, start JUNE 20, 2007

June 20, 2007--Come celebrate the first of 8 concerts during the 20th Anniversary Starlite Stage Series; Concerts in the Park.  Check out the great artwork created by the 8th grade Green Lake School's art class, which will be displayed on the sandwich board announcing who will be performing each week.  There is also a link to the on-line poster at www.greenlakecc.com.   Should anyone want a poster/flyer/pocket size schedule please reply back with your mailing address, specify what size and we will be more than happy send you one.  Please help support this wonderful event by purchasing popcorn, cookies, soda, or a button at the concession booth for a chance to win something from the band.  As you can see by the photo come early to find a place and bring your blanket, chair or cushion.

4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION
Start out your day at 7:30am with a pancake breakfast at the American Legion Hall.  Take a leisure stroll around town until 2pm, when Playground Park and Deacon Mills Park comes alive with tents of food, games of fun, music by Zack Attack and more.  Around 5pm you will see the Color Guard (last year's start is pictured) and know that the parade has begun.  Stick around for the grand display of fireworks starting at dusk.  This year two barges will be needed on the lake for the fireworks, which should be a grand display.  The Green Lake Area Chamber is accepting donations to help support the fireworks and keeps this tradition alive.
