June 2007
Hello from Green Lake Wisconsin! 6/29/2007

Personal Note:  I cannot believe that 4th of July is only days away.  Below is listed the area's 4th of July fireworks display dates.

SUMMER SOLSTICE, JUNE 16, 2007

I am happy to say that Green Lake's 10th Anniversary Summer Solstice was one of our better years-thanks to everyone that participated.  If you would like a list of all the winners please let us know and we will be happy to send that to you.  We had the 1st ever adult Tricycle Races, which were a big hit.  This will definitely be a staple at future Summer Solstice events and you may see them at other events also.  Pictured is what the races looked like just in case you could not make it this year.  The Green Lake Area Chamber's Summer Solstice date next year is June 21, 2008, which is on Summer Solstice!  Make sure to mark this on your calendar, so you don't miss out on all the fun!

CONCERTS IN THE PARK, started JUNE 20, 2007

The Clauson Family on June 20, 2007 started the 20th Anniversary Starlite Stage Series; Concerts in the Park.  This concert was very well attended.  Bergan Riley performed the second concert of the series on June 27, 2007.  There will be no concert on July 4th, so that you can join in on the Green Lake Area Chamber's 4th of July Celebration.  More information on that is below.  If you want to know who is performing and when for the remaining concerts please check out the on-line poster at www.greenlakecc.com.   I have included a photo from last year's Family Picnic Night when the UW Marching Band came to entertain us.  They will be performing again this year on July 18 along with The Del-Rays for Family Picnic Night.  You can help support this wonderful series by purchasing popcorn, cookies, soda, or a button at the concession table.  Also during Family Picnic Night purchase your hamburger, hotdog or brat meal during the concert.  When you purchase a button or are wearing your button make sure to sign up at the concession table for a chance to win something from the band.  As you can see by the photo come early to find a good spot and bring your blanket, chair or cushion (or if you don't mind grass stains, just plop yourself down and enjoy).

4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION

The American Legion Hall Pancake Breakfast starts at 7:30am.  At 2pm there will be food, refreshments, entertainment and games at both Deacon Mills Park and Playground Park with clowns roaming the area in between.  Funnel Cakes, Sweet Corn, Pie and Ice Cream Social, Face Painting and the Chamber tent will be in Deacon Mill Park.    Farmers Market, Sink the Bismark, Duck Races, Pony Rides, Petting Zoo and Kettle Corn will be in Playground Park.  At 5pm the parade starts and at dusk there will be a grand display of fireworks shot off of two barges in Dartford Bay near Oakwood Point.  Thanks to the generous support of the community, this year, we will be increasing our fireworks by over $3,000, so the fireworks display will be bigger and better than ever.  Pictured is only one of the many you will see.  The Green Lake Area Chamber is still accepting donations to help support future fireworks which will keep this tradition alive.  If you would still like to donate please send your check to the Green Lake Fund, PO Box 337, Green Lake, WI  54941-0337--donations are tax deductible.  Other area 4th of July Celebrations are as follows; June 30 in Princeton and Markesan, July 3 in Ripon and July 7 in Neshkoro and Berlin.
