Hello from Green Lake Wisconsin! 7/31/2007

Personal Note:  Wow what a summer we are having in Green Lake!  Great weather for lake activities, morning & evening walks and indoor & outdoor fun.

4th of July Celebration - July 4, 2007

The Green Lake Area Chamber received many compliments
on the fireworks display, this year.  Thankfully there was no rain to stop the celebration and fun was had by all.  If you were able to attend this event and would like to help us out with next year's plans - please reply back with your comments, so they can be addressed at the 4th of July Committee Wrap-Up Meeting.
Your comments are greatly appreciated!

CONCERTS IN THE PARK-STARLITE STAGE SERIES

Only three concerts left in the 2007 Starlite Stage Series.  If you want information please check out the on-line poster at www.greenlakecc.com.  The UW Marching Band gave a great performance at Family Picnic Night on July 18 along with the Del-Rays.  Concessions are available at each concert including popcorn, cookies, soda, and a special 20th Anniversary commemorative button.  When you purchase a button please make sure to wear it to all the concerts then sign up at the concession table for a chance to win the performing band's donated items.  Bring your blanket, chair or cushion (or if you don't mind grass stains, just plop yourself down and enjoy).

ART WALK & CHALK ART FESTIVAL, AUGUST 17 & 18

August is Art Month in Green Lake with Art Banners displayed on the light poles in the downtown area, Fine Art Show on August 11 & 12, Starry Starry Night-Art Walk on August 17, Chalk Art Festival on August 18.
The Art Banners have been created by area artists and will be auctioned off on September 2 at Thrasher Opera House.
The Fine Art Show has approximately 100 select artists in varied categories.
The Starry Starry Night-Art Walk has 16 participating businesses with over 23 artists.  The brochure is available at the Chamber Office with artist locations.
The Chalk Art Festival has something for everyone-  Spectators can enjoy food, refreshments, live music, watching others create works of art, create your own work of art and join in on coloring a Green Lake mural (courtesy of Robin Wallenfang).  Forms for purchasing your 4X4 square on Mill Street will be available on-line and in the Chamber Office.  Pictured is last year's family winner.
