Hello from Green Lake Wisconsin! 8/30/2007

Personal Note: The rain that we had is bringing out nature's colors and we are starting to see the beautiful colors of fall.

CONCERTS IN THE PARK-STARLITE STAGE SERIES

The last concert in our special 20th Anniversary - 2007 Starlite Stage Series (Concerts in the Park) was August 15. The Concerts in the Park Committee will be starting to work on the 2008 band schedule.  If you would like to help them in choosing the type of music to book, we would like to hear from you.  Also, if you really liked any the 2007 bands, please let us know that also.  Hope everyone enjoyed the outdoor concerts in Deacon Mills Park on the shore of beautiful Green Lake.

ART WALK, AUGUST 17-CHALK ART FESTIVAL, AUGUST 18 and LIVE BANNER AUCTION

The buzz is that the Starry Starry Night-Art Walk was a success and will be a reoccurring event.  

The Chalk Art Festival had over 30 participants.  Photos were taken of each and are available on our website under photos at www.visitgreenlake.com.  Pictured is the winning artwork in the Artist category.

The Green Lake Area Chamber's Arts Network will be holding a Live Banner Auction on Sunday, September 2nd at 5 p.m. at Thrasher Opera House.  These banners were painted by area artists, students and novices and would look great hanging in front of your house, business or inside your home.  You can preview the banners on the Hill & Mill Street light poles until Saturday, September 1 or after 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 2 at Thrasher Opera House.  If you are unable to attend the auction and would like to pre-bid on a certain banner please call the chamber at 1-800-253-7354. 

 

Golden Days Harvest Festival, September 29 & 30, 2007

Golden Days Harvest Festival is Green Lake's largest festival of the year with food, beverages, parade, street dance, live entertainment, car show, auction, raffle, crafts, contests, face painting, farm market, rides, games, chalk art drawing, mural collaboration and more. 
Contests include:  
1.  Scarecrow Contest-If you live in the city and you would like to participate just display your scarecrow at your house and pre-register by calling the Chamber at 294-3231 to let us know where it is or if you live out of the city limits you can bring your scarecrow to the Chamber Office, located at 550 Mill Street, set up your scarecrow on the lawn next to Santa's House then register it at the Chamber booth on the Courthouse Lawn.
2.  Pie Contest-bring in your pie and recipe to the Green Lake Chamber Office from 8am-noon on Saturday, Sept. 29.
3.  Pumpkin Carving-both days from 10:30am-2:30pm
Pictured is the tram, which is available to shuttle you back and forth to the fairgrounds.

October Women's Month-Ladies' Night Out, October 13, 2007

Come join us for an enjoyable evening on Saturday, October 13.  The Green Lake Area Chamber will be celebrating October Women's Month with a Ladies' Night Out, Murder Mystery at JT Skewers located on Highway 23.  The cost is $20 per person, which will include dinner, mystery, door prize drawing and other fun activities.  Space is limited, so pre-registering is encouraged by calling the Chamber Office at 920-294-3231 or 800-253-7354 or you can purchase your ticket at the door.
