Hello from Green Lake Wisconsin!

Personal Note:  Has everyone in Wisconsin had his or her fill of snow, now?  I personally cannot wait until spring when I can take walks around Green Lake.  

Winter in Green Lake

We have snow!!  Snowmobilers are out on the Green Lake County trails.  For up-to-the-minutes trail status please call 920-294-3220 or visit www.greenlakecountysnowmobiletrails.com.  Other fun outside winter activities are ice skating, fishing, cross-country skiing and sledding.  Sledding can be done on Zobel Park's sledding hill.  Please check ice conditions before venturing out on the ice and keep in mind that March 5th all fish shanties have to be off the lake.

Winterfest, February 8 & 9, 2008

Winterfest in Green Lake hosted by the Green Lake Area Chamber and the Green Lake Kiwanis Club was fun, food was great and we had some interesting singers for the Karaoke.  Pictured are Ashlie Walker who was crowned Miss Winterfest 2008 with Morgan Cook as runner-up.  The addition of the vintage snowmobile show was nice.  There were seven soups for the soup contest.  If you would like the recipes they are now on line--click here.  The medallion was found after the second clue in one of the musical instruments (outside sculpture) at the school.  If you have any suggestions for next year please do not hesitate to share by replying back to this newsletter.

Summer Solstice, June 21, 2008

Be crazy and have fun (like the previous winners in the photo) at the Green Lake Area Chamber's 11th Annual Summer Solstice event.  With so much going on we suggest you just put on your cutest pajamas and bedroom slippers and come to the corner of Hill & Mill Street in Green Lake.  Sign up for the cutest pajama and also the cutest bedroom slipper contests.  While you are signing up check out all the other contests you can enter such as the bed races, tricycle races and howl at the moon.  Walk around and look at all the different cars in the car show, get your face painted, see if you can find the medallion (hopefully it will be harder to find than the Winterfest one was), have some great food and refreshments, get an insightful reading done and purchase your raffle tickets for a chance to win a Giant Green Lake Gift Basket.  Don't forget to check out all the specials in participating businesses for great deals.  By the end of the day you can just slip into bed and dream about what a great time you had.
