Hello from Green Lake Wisconsin!

A little City & County News:  1) Newly-elected City of Green Lake Mayor Chuck Mirr was sworn in on Monday, April 14, and officially assumed his mayoral duties on Tuesday, April 15.  2) The Green Lake County Board passed a bike trail resolution starting in 2009 to include three or five-foot paved lanes with roadwork projects for designated county roads.

Featured this month: Ellen Koeppen

After 11 years the Green Lake Area Chamber of Commerce's Executive Director, Dusty Walker (pictured on the right) will be retiring and Ellen Koeppen (pictured on the left) as of April 14 became our new Executive Director.  If you happen to be in the area please stop in and say "Hi".  Dusty will be helping with Ellen's transition until May 15, 2008.  

"Happy Returns" Daylily declared Green Lake's City Flower

Update on the Green Lake City Flower.  The Green Lake Area Chamber is taking pre-orders for these flowers.  The cost per plant is $4.00 and will be available at the Chamber Office on May 9, 2008.  Please reply back with your pre-order by April 29, so we can make arrangements.

Summer Solstice, June 21, 2008

Green Lake Area Chamber's 11th Annual Summer Solstice event will be held on Saturday, June 21 from 10am-10pm.  Anyone wanting to help with this event please let us know.  Pictured is last year's Chamber tent.  New this year is a "Groove Your Ride" Contest.  Decorate your ride (be it your family van, work truck, everyday car, cruising motorcycle or even your mountain bike) with a Summer theme and bring it on down.  There will be a People's Choice Award.  The Bed Race and Tricycle Race participation forms are available on-line by clicking here.  Also, back by popular demand is Claudia's Creative Concepts from 5-10pm.  The cost is $15.00 for a 10-minute session, which was said to be well worth the money.  You can pre-book your session before June 20 by calling us.  Green Lake Area Chamber's phone number is 920-294-3231 and the office hours are Monday-Friday from 9am to 4pm.

 

4th OF JULY on July 4, 2008

Green Lake Area Chamber's 4th of July Celebration will be on Friday, July 4th starting at 2pm.  Hopefully everyone can enjoy this celebration along with the great fireworks on the lake.  There will be activities in Deacon Mills Park and Playground Park making it a citywide affair.  Pictured is the beginning of a previous year's parade.  Our 4th of July parade starting at 5pm is open to anyone who would like to participate so, gather your family-friends and make a patriotic float.  Click here for the parade application and guidelines.
