Hello from Green Lake Wisconsin!

I will try to keep this e-newsletter short now that things have started calming down (receding).  I did try to get this out yesterday and as you can see did not make it SO happy July 1st everyone!

Featured this month: After the storm of June 13, 2008

On July 1, 2008-According to Sheriff Mark A. Podoll and the Green Lake Sanitary District, Big Green Lake is OPEN to all boating and SAFE for swimming.  Use caution as visible and submerged debris, washouts, strong currents and other unsafe conditions may still exist.  Pictured is what the dam looked like after the first rain on June 13, 2008.

Summer Solstice, June 21, 2008

Summer Solstice is Green Lake's Big Pajama party for those who want to have great family fun.  We had many people get into the event by showing up in their pajamas (like those pictured), racing tricycles, racing beds, howling at the Moon (we could not find the moon, so we used the clock this year) and also learned more about their life.  There were 14 businesses throughout the day that had jar guessing available for those who like challenges (guessing) with benefits (prizes).  It took three clues, this year, before the medallion was found by the Santa House.  Our new "Groove Your Ride" and "21 Wheel" were a great added addition.  I was told by many that the food and ice cream were delicious.  Kids enjoyed the Bedtime Stories, balloons from the clowns and the first annual PJ Parade.   Horse and Carriage Rides were busy giving rides.  If you have any suggestions/ideas for more additional family fun things to do for this event please feel free to reply back and share it/them with us.  If you would like a list of all the winners/donors/volunteers please let us know and we would be happy to send that to you.  A lot of fun was had by all those who joined us in the longest day of the year.
