Our featured artist for the month of December is Geraldine Buteyn. Her artwork will adorn the Great Room November 28th through December 27th.
Gerri’s bio:

“Working in oils and acrylics Geraldine, or Gerri, as her friends and family call her, has created the “Slices of Life” series to call our attention to the ordinary little “slices” of things happening all around us which we tend to overlook.

Gerri realized her love for drawing and creating at a young age and felt a calling to put those gifts to use somehow in her future. She attended Calvin College, UW Fond du Lac, UW Oshkosh, and UW Madison for her art education.

While raising a family and teaching art part-time at Central Wisconsin Christian Schools, Gerri stayed busy doing commissions, teaching 4-H Art for 20 years, and creating in any way possible.

During her time off from teaching, she was challenged with several large projects, the largest being painting Michelangelo’s “Creation of Adam” on the ceiling of a 26 foot high dome in a surgery center in Oshkosh with the help of her son, Jason.

In 2018 she was blessed to illustrate and self-publish a children’s book, “The Little Snowflake” for a Waupun friend, Mary Rens, which is now available on Amazon.

Gerri retired from teaching at the end of 2017 but still is involved in education and the arts out of her home in Brandon, WI ,and through the non-profit, Waupun Fine Arts.
